About Yume

Yume is an author of speculative fiction. Her books include: The Deep Sky and The Stardust Grail (Flatiron Books/Harper Voyager UK) and two forthcoming: Saltcrop in September 2025 and Envoy in 2027.

She is Japanese and American and grew up in a space between two cultures -- the same space where her stories reside.

She's been writing since she was little, because she was afraid of the dark. (She's still afraid of the dark.)

She graduated from Stuyvesant High School and Princeton University and lives in Brooklyn with two cats, Boondoggle and Filibuster.
