About Yume

​

Yume is an author of speculative fiction. Her books include: The Deep Sky and The Stardust Grail (Flatiron Books/Harper Voyager UK) and two forthcoming: Saltcrop in September 2025 and Envoy in 2026. 
​​

She is Japanese and American and grew up in a space between two cultures -- the same space where her stories reside.

​​

She's been writing since she was little, because she was afraid of the dark. (She's still afraid of the dark.)

​​

She graduated from Stuyvesant High School and Princeton University and lives in Brooklyn with two cats, Boondoggle and Filibuster.
